 Could Resistance to Antibiotics Be the End of Modern Medicine?We’ve all heard how fast bacteria mutates, evolves, and becomes resistant to antibiotics, making it harder for our immune systems to fight even common infection, which could become fatal.

According to Dr. Margaret Chan, Director General of the World Health Organization, antibiotic resistance could bring about “the end of modern medicine as we know it.” To keep antibiotics useful, it’s important to make sure we use them appropriately. By using them only when really needed, using them correctly according to treatment and restricting the use of antibiotics in food production to therapeutic purposes, we can reduce the potential for bacteria to develop antibiotic resistance.
